Remembrance

Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 3 p.m.

St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Dr., Ottawa

A special Remembrance Day concert featuring trumpeter Malcolm Horava. The program includes thoughtful works by Canadian composers Eleanor Daley, Laura Hawley, Matthew Larkin, Nicholas Piper and Marie-Claire Saindon. This performance will provide an opportunity to reflect not only on the losses suffered in war, but also on our communal loss and sacrifice resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The choir will be masked for this concert. Masks for audience members are recommended but not mandatory.

December 2022

Good Tidings

Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street, Ottawa

The Choir’s holiday concert will ring in the festive season with favourites from the classical and contemporary repertoire, including excerpts from Handel’s Messiah, a lively spiritual arranged by Moses Hogan, the haunting O magnum mysterium by Canadian composer Jeff Enns, and a selection of seasonal carols. We’ll be joined by tenor soloist Grayson Nesbitt.

The choir will be masked for this concert. Masks for audience members are recommended but not mandatory

March 2023

Requiems: Fauré and Forrest

Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 154 Somerset St. W, Ottawa

Accompanied by a chamber ensemble and organist Josh Zentner-Barrett, the Choir will perform the beautiful Requiem by Gabriel Fauré and the powerful Requiem for the Living by contemporary composer Dan Forrest, which combines both liturgical and non-liturgical texts.

May 2023

This Is Why We Sing, Part III: Musicals

Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street, Ottawa

Originally planned for May 2020, this is the third instalment in the Choir’s popular This Is Why We Sing series of concerts. Choir members have chosen familiar choruses and favourite songs drawn from popular shows, including Wicked, Les Misérables, Guys and Dolls, Come From Away and many more. The concert will present the Choir in various configurations, accompanied by piano and percussion.
