YOUR SPONSORSHIP SUPPORTS THE CHOIR IN SEVERAL IMPORTANT WAYS

1. Supporting Choir Development and Direction

Attracting enthusiastic singers and providing appropriate musical development activities for our choir members are important parts of our mandate. As well, we work with a paid music director and accompanist who bring their experience and talent to the development of the choir.

2. Supporting our Concert Performances

Ticket revenue alone doesn’t cover the full cost of presenting our concerts. Venue rental fees and fees for guest musicians and soloists are just a few of our expenses for each performance. With your assistance, we can continue to stage interesting and entertaining concerts featuring talented local artists.

3. Commissioning New Canadian Choral Works

Choral music is a dynamic and evolving artistic form that adds to quality of life at both the individual and community level. As such, we regularly provide financial support to Canadian composers to produce new choral works that can be performed by the choir. We have commissioned and premiered works by Patrick Cardy, Eleanor Daley, Jan Järvlepp and Patrick Wedd, and by Ottawa composers Michael Bussière, Laura Hawley and Nicholas Piper.

4. Supporting Student Memberships, Bursaries and Choral Scholarships

The Canadian Centennial Choir offers reduced membership fees to student choristers, and contributes to selected music bursaries and scholarships (at the discretion of the CCC board of directors).
